The Nidderdale Museum Society

The Nidderdale Museum was founded in 1975 by a group of enthusiasts who realised that much of the traditional life of the dale was quickly disappearing. The museum building, erected in 1863, was originally the Pateley Bridge Union Workhouse.

Volunteering

The Nidderdale Museum is entirely run and staffed by volunteers and we welcome new members. As well as supporting the Museum, the Society has its own programme of activities, talks on topics of local interest during the winter and walks in the local area in the summer.
